Though transmission of electrical energy to customers premises is the job of power distribution company ,does improper transmission/transmission loss is a matter of concern for the power supplying company , and that too only to the extent of their profit and loss ?
Do the consumer has a role to play.Is it concern for the user? Yes.
If yes, how do you understand there is reason for concern ?
What should the user do? How can you help?
1.If there is frequent and persistant voltage variation at the coustmers end
( i ) it may be because of improper size of transmission lines.
(ii) may be because of loose contacts on joints and connectors of transmission lines.
(iii) it may be because of frequent insulation failures of the transmission line.
(iv ) if the transmisson lines are with non insulated wires or cable then it may
touching tree branches or there are faulty insulators .
Such transmission system causes loss of energy, damage to your electrical applines and danger to life .If you notice such symptoms report to your power supplier for early repairs.
